About Us
Accepting the multicultural nature of the city, the Montreal Chapter is committed to bringing relevant issues to our communities in the Québec metropolis and forging links with organizations with similar goals that are reflective of Canadian society and culture.
One of the principal issues for us is Health Care. We are committed to defending and improving the Medicare system that provides universal health care to all Canadians.
We strongly support the need for a comprehensive national water policy and oppose bulk water exports. We endorse the provincial initiatives to preserve our environment and urge the federal government to take concrete steps to combat global warming.
We encourage our federal government to maintain our national priorities in the face of programs designed to cater to the business and other special interests of the United States.
We believe that it is essential for the Chapter to involve a cross-section of the society, and actively include people in their 20's, 30's , 40's and up. Our goal is to involve students from high school and university as well as members from all walks of life.
